Pray Till Pentecost – Breakthrough Devotion (1/4)
I am sure that like me, there are prophetic words you have received or promises in the Word that you know God has given you, that have not come to pass yet or are laying dormant. Maybe you are believing for a breakthrough in an area and what you see going on around you in the natural realm doesn’t look anything like what you are believing for. Oh, but in the supernatural realm there is so much happening because we serve a God who declares the end from the beginning.
Isaiah 46:9-11 tells us that God declares how things are going to turn out before they happen. He declares the end from the beginning and things that are not yet done. Then He goes on to tell us how He foreknows the end. He says “My counsel shall stand and I will do all my pleasure.” He says in verse 11 “I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it.”
In other words, by declaring His fore counsel and by declaring His purpose ahead of time, His Word will stand. He tells us in verse 11 that He is responsible for bringing His plan to pass. So, the future is the counsel of God being established -or to put it another way- it is the purposes of God being accomplished by God. He purposed it! He spoke it. He will bring it to pass. That means that if I align myself with what the Word of God says about any situation, I too can CALL my end from the beginning. Now that’s exciting. Declare it.
Our Heavenly Father delights in breaking through barriers to accomplish His Word. Sometimes we almost grip the barrier to try to move it for Him instead of gripping His Word fully. Hebrews 10:23 tells us He is faithful to His Word.
In Mark 4:35 Jesus tells His disciples “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” A demonic barrier attempted to stop the disciples from accomplishing the Word Jesus had given them. A great storm arose and the waves were beating into the boat to such an extent that these experienced fishermen thought they were going to die. They wake Jesus up and He calms the storm and then He questions them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it you have no faith?”
During the storm – standing against a barrier, we can either give in to fear or rise up in faith. Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. What was the Word Jesus gave them? That they would cross over to the other side. Where is your Word? Declare it!
Mark 5 starts with “They arrived at the other side”. Jesus declared the end from the beginning. This is your testimony too. The barriers didn’t stop me – His Word, His promises sustained me, and I arrived at the other side. Hallelujah!!
